Most dentists are good people who want to make their patients feel comfortable and valued, but let’s face it — they’re not always willing to go the extra mile to make that happen. Here at Compassionate Dental Care, we like to think that the name of our practice tells you exactly what to expect when you come into our office. You are our top priority, and we’ll always do everything we can to convince you that we are the best dentist in Lake in the Hills. If you’ve never visited us before, here is a brief preview of what you can expect at your first appointment.
A Warm Welcome and a Listening Ear
When you come into our practice, you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly staff members. If you didn’t already fill out your initial paperwork, we may ask you to dot some Is and cross some Ts before we can start caring for that precious grin of yours. We’ll also collect your insurance information and answer any questions you have about our payment policies.
When we escort you into an exam room, please feel free to talk to us about anything that’s on your mind related to your oral health (or chat with us about other things—we’re friendly and love to get to know our patients). Our hygienists and doctors all have a wealth of knowledge that they’re eager to share.
A Thorough Cleaning and Exam
X-rays are an important part of a first dental exam because the doctor needs to have a comprehensive view of your oral health. It takes just a few minutes to collect the images, which will reveal things like wisdom teeth, cavities, and other potential issues that we may have to address either immediately or at some point in the future.
We’ll clean your teeth and give you some personalized tips on how you can improve your oral hygiene at home — or we might just give you a pat on the back for already having excellent habits.
When you meet the doctor, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. At your past appointments with other dentists, you probably noticed that the doctors always seem to be in a rush, trying to move from one patient to the next as quickly as possible. We’re not like that. Our doctors are always willing to slow down and take the time to talk to you about any treatment you may need or are thinking about getting. We always try to treat our patients like family.
Wrapping Things Up
When your appointment ends, we’ll take care of payment and schedule a follow-up appointment for you, whether it’s just another cleaning in six months or you need to have other work done before that. Our goal is that when you leave our office, you’re already looking forward to seeing our friendly, compassionate team at your next appointment.
